Internet Protocol Security (IPsec)
A security protocol suite developed and maintained by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to protect Internet Protocol (IP, see Internet Protocol (IP)) traffic by encrypting packets and by providing end-to-end authentication. IPsec is most commonly used in so-called tunnel mode with a virtual private network (virtual private network (VPN)).
GridScape Configuration Server and Bridge Configurator support IPsec tunnels as a firewall feature.
